Surya Namaskar practiced daily with the proper breathing is a great practice to follow every day to help with weight loss because regular practice of Asana brings hormonal balance to our body which is very important to maintain the correct weight. But please practice Surya Namaskars with the correct breathing for it to be effective.

Astanga Suryanamakar or Hatha Yoga Suryanamakar practiced for 12 cycles a day in the morning along with Twist postures or Parivritti postures like Trikona Asana – Parivritti Bheda, and Parva Trikona Asana – Parivritti Bheda, and Jatara Parivritti are good asanas to practice every day.


Practicing pranayama correctly with breathe ratios and holding of breathe during the practice as per your capacity will help in regulating your metabolic activity which is very important for weight loss.

Eating a balanced diet

And of course a balanced diet containing of all the important foods to nourish your body is very important. Avoid eating heavy foods after sunset; this will surely help you in your weight loss. A fruit like apple or banana with a glass of warm milk can be had as early dinner.
