What should be the gap between the time we eat and yoga practice?

Read Time: 1 minutes

Yoga practice is most effective when done on a light stomach. It is always recommended to do your rigorous asana practice in the morning any time between 5:00 a.m. and 8.00 am and once you are done you must surely eat and enjoy a big nourishing breakfast which nourishes and replenishes your body.

The practice of Pranayama and mediation  are most effective only if it is done  on a light stomach.  Breath control and regulation is only possible when your stomach is light or empty for you to observe, direct and channelize your breath and mind.

Therefore it is recommended to have your food  at least one or two hours before your practice of Yoga Asana, Pranayama or Meditation.

The practice of Yoga and Ahara Niyama i.e.  what you eat , when you eat and how you eat are very important and go hand in hand.  Only if they both are done mindfully can one reap the benefits of yoga practice.
