KYM Yoga Teacher Training Certification- Diploma in Yoga Graduation Day Ceremony (Batch 2018-2019)

It was such an eagerly anticipated day and the evening of 18th May2019, the graduation ceremony of the Sri Krishna Wellness Yoga Centre – Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram Yoga Teacher’s Training Program – Diploma in Yoga.  This turned out to be a perfect evening and a memory which will be cherished all through the lives of each of the students who graduated that day!

About the KYM – Yoga Teacher Training Certification Course – Diploma in Yoga

The KYM Yoga Teacher Training Certification Program – Diploma in Yoga offered by Krishnmacharya Yoga Mandiram; Chennai is now available for students interested to learn Authentic & Traditional Yoga here at Bangalore. Sri Krishna Wellness Yoga & Cultural Centre at Malleshwaram has an intake of only 20 students for this 11-month course every year as it is intense and one of the best courses in the world. Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) – Chennai was set up 40 years ago by Shri TKV Desikachar, son of the late Shri T Krishnamacharya. Late Shri T Krishnamacharya was the teacher to several yoga masters, some of them being Shri BK S Iyengar, Shri Pattabhi Jois and Madame Indra Devi and Shri TKV Desikachar. This graduation ceremony of the second batch of students, who have successfully completed the programme at the centre.

Perfect Occasion celebrating Tradition, Cultural Heritage & Obviously Yoga

Sri Krishna Wellness Yoga Centre, the venue of the ceremony, was tastefully decked up for the occasion. The stage in the open, under the sky on a full moon Buddha Purnima night, in the midst of greenery and the inside hall was also decorated and ready to receive the guests. All the students turned up for the graduation ceremony dressed up so beautifully for the occasion and the excitement in the air was so palpable! Families and friends of all the students walked in and the chairs started filling up very fast.

And then the dignitaries arrived. Divinity with the holy presence of His Holiness Sri Sri Yathiraj Jeeyar Swami, Sri Yathiraj Mutt, Melkote.

  • Royalty with the presence of Sri Yaduveer Krishnadutta Chamaraja Wadiyar who spoke about the deep connection between Sri T Krishnamacharya and the Royal Wodeyar House.
  • Yoga authority with the presence of Dr Ramachandra Bhat, Vice Chancellor Emeritus SVYSYA University Bangalore.
  • Expert in Ayurveda with Dr Prasanna Shankar – Director, Institute of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine, Bangalore
  • Blessings of Vedanta Scholar Swamini Svatmabhodananda Saraswati.
  • And of-course the presence of the senior mentors and members of Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai –      Shri S. Sridharan, – Latha Satish, Shri Jayaraman Mahadevan Shri T. Swaminathan, & Smt. Geetha Satheesh  increased the importance, joy and dignity of the occasion .

The evening started with a recitation of Yoga Sutra by the students along with the senior teachers of KYM in front of such respected presence and a full hall.  The students got to hear pearls of wisdom from all these respected dignitaries and all the students were fortunate to receive their certificates from such great personalities. They were also gifted a beautiful painting of Patanjali from Sri Krishna Wellness Yoga Centre   It was a thrilling at the same time a humbling experience.

Every student had put their heart and soul into the course and finally all the hard work culminated into this joyous day with all their near and dear ones around them to witness and be a part of their happiness.  It was a moment of pride but also a moment of humility. The evening ended with a brilliant and melodious musical performance by Kum Bhargavi Venkatram under the beautiful trees and the evening sky.  Prasadam was also distributed to each guest.

The event was so well organised. There was a right balance of formality and intimacy and the number of people who came to witness and be part of the ceremony spoke volumes about the dedication and commitment of Ms. Mimi Partha Sarathy, Founder and Managing Trustee, SriKrishna Wellness Centre and the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram Teacher’s Training Diploma in Yoga Program.  Each one of the students felt so proud and joyous to have been part of the program and the Grand Graduation Ceremony. It brought back memories of their graduation from school and college. This tastefully done Graduation Ceremony was even more special and dear as it strengthened the faith in this new journey each student had started and validated the path school and lineage of Yoga they had all have embraced!    It was a perfect, appropriate culmination of the 11 months of effort put into the Yoga Teachers Training Program and the Graduation Ceremony will be etched deeply in the memory of all the students.
