Finding the correct equipment to start with is one of the most crucial steps that you need to take when you decide to begin a new fitness regimen. As a beginner, you may find it difficult to practise yoga at home without a yoga teacher’s guidance or the tools offered by a yoga studio in Bangalore. In addition to assisting more seasoned practitioners in developing the flexibility and strength for more difficult poses, the correct yoga equipment will make you feel more at ease and confident while you are learning the postures. You don’t need to make a significant investment to begin practising yoga at home, despite the fact that yoga facilities sometimes supply their students with a tonne of equipment.
One of the best things about yoga is that it doesn’t require a huge number of tools and gear to get started. The only purpose of yoga equipment is to increase your skill level and provide your body with additional support when it’s required. Depending on the sort of yoga you practise, you’ll need a different quantity of equipment. Iyengar has so much equipment that it’s normal to see ropes and wheels, whereas Vinyasa yoga typically only requires a block. However, there is one piece of equipment that ed for all asana or physical yoga exercises is a Yoga Mat. Let’s see what equipment do you need to practice yoga.
- Yoga mat- You must use a yoga mat in order to practise yoga, whether you are using your own or equipment from a class. When it comes to yoga equipment, the mats are advantageous since they provide greater grip than any type of flooring. It is crucial to purchase yoga equipment that will keep us safe because no one wants to suffer an injury while working out. Yoga mats will not only increase the grip that your hands and feet have when you are entering poses and holding them, but they will also soften your fall in the worst-case scenarios of sliding or falling. Although we have all the yoga equipment in our studio i.e., Sri Krishna Wellness, Yoga and Cultural Centre, we always advise our students to bring their own mats.
- Yoga appropriate clothing- We need to feel comfortable when we stretch and twist our bodies into the poses that yoga demands. The clothing you already own for exercise may be what you want to wear, but there is a possibility it won’t be effective. High-waisted pants or leggings with moisture-wicking qualities are what you’ll need. Typically, yoga attire is lighter and softer. You’ll be able to exercise comfortably and your clothes will be able to flow and stretch as you go if it has yoga-specific patterns. Make sure you get your correct size. You don’t want to go too tight because the waistband will make you feel constrained rather than supported. Too loose clothes will force you to keep adjusting them in your yoga classes in Bangalore.
- Yoga towels- It goes without saying that you will sweat while doing yoga. However, the sweat has the potential to make the mat hazardous for you to use and more prone to slipping on the floor. The mat can be covered with the yoga cloth to prevent sweat from making it slippery. Sweat will be absorbed by the towel, which will also provide resistance to the mat and floor. Since conventional towels won’t offer the same level of support, the yoga towel is a specially made piece of yoga equipment. Additionally, we advise opting for towels with non-slip backings, such as ones that have silicone nubs, if you sweat a lot and are concerned that the towel will get slick and lose its grip.
- Yoga strap- Yoga straps are tools that are used in the practise of yoga to help in the development of flexibility. We advise buying some yoga straps if you’re a newbie with no prior flexibility training because they’ll reduce the risk of muscular strain. Grab the strap at both ends and draw it toward you as you lean into a pose is a frequent way to use this yoga tool. Tension can be efficiently reduced by the poses and stretches performed with the strap. You can use this tool in the upright position to improve your flexibility and balance. You can even practice more at home with yoga straps if you have joined Sri Krishna Wellness, Yoga and Cultural Centre’s online yoga sessions.
- Yoga wheel- The yoga wheel is a hollow, round prop that, by providing additional support for your limbs, will help you become more flexible. However, because it rolls, it will also let you stretch your body even farther. Furthermore, the yoga wheel is an excellent piece of equipment for yoga because it allows you to stretch back and forth while also enabling you to enter deeper positions. You can utilise the yoga wheel to relieve any back pain or spinal problems you may have. The yoga wheel is useful for unwinding and is excellent for easing stiff muscles. In order to get a better night’s sleep following a night time workout, you should switch to yoga wheel aided routines.
Choosing the proper yoga equipment can seem intimidating, but don’t be worried; yoga shouldn’t cause any tension. We recommend you to research about the equipment or talk to experts at our yoga studio, we will help you find the right equipment that suits you the best.
